Paving & Concrete Sealer SATIN

Bondall Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin is a hard wearing, water based clear finish for coating clay or concrete pavers, concrete floors, natural stone surfaces and most slate. It will provide excellent protection from staining and soiling and is extremely trafficable. Bondall Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin will dust proof, stabilize and enhance the natural colour of the substrate. Suitable for most interior and exterior applications.

Bondall Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin is suitable for most rough, trafficable, horizontal surfaces. However, on smooth surfaces such as terracotta tiles, smooth texture paved surfaces and dense surfaces friction/grip may be reduced.

Preparation

Surface preparation is critical to a successful outcome and longevity of this product. Do not apply if temperature is below 10oC or if rain is expected within 24 hours. All surfaces to be coated with Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin must be clean and dry, free from wax, oil, grease and other contaminants. High pressure cleaning or treating with suitable cleaning agents for mould, mildew or grease is recommended particularly for older surfaces. A dry surface is critical for successful and long-lasting finish, 4-7 days is recommended after high pressure cleaning and a minimum of 3 days after standard cleaning or rain. All previous paint, sealers and coating must be totally removed and stripped back to bare concrete before coating with Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin. Some surfaces may require acid etching. (with detergent and water)

Application

Stir contents thoroughly before and during use using a broad, flat paddle in an upward motion. Insufficient mixing can result in inconsistencies of the finish. DO NOT SHAKE the contents as shaking will produce air bubbles which may become trapped on the surface during application.

For best results Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin should be poured into a pump action pressure sprayer (like a garden sprayer used for pesticide applications) or a roller tray and applied using a good quality roller.

Apply Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin evenly, doing 1 square meter at a time. If using anti slip additive broadcast evenly over the wet first coat before leaving to dry. The second coat should be applied at an angle opposite to the first coat, once the first coat has dried (24hours)

It is also advised to lay-off with your roller, this is achieved by making sure the final stroke is pushed away from you then lifted off the surface. When you pull the roller towards you it reverses the nap resulting in roller marks. Allow 24 –hours drying before applying the second coat.

Paving & Concrete Sealer Satin is film forming however the coverage rates will vary depending on surface porosity, surface application must meet a minimum of 5 m2 per Litre for the first coat, the second coat will have an increased coverage rate.

Drying

Tack Free – 15 – 30mins

  • Drying times after washing/cleaning will vary between method and surface and current weather conditions. Drying times may vary depending on cleaning method, surface porosity and weather. (4-7 is recommended after high-pressure cleaning)
  • Always neutralise the surface after etching.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation during use.
  • If conditions are warm, thinning additional coats with no more than 5% clean mineral turpentine will ease application.
