Bondall Paint & Varnish Stripper is a highly effective non-Methylene Chloride stripper ideal for use by inexperienced DIYers as well as professional users. The non-caustic formulation is quick and easy to use, both indoors and out, and can remove multiple layers at a time.
Suitable for use on wood, metal, glass, plaster and concrete. May not be used on plastics. Also suitable for removing old hardened paint from paint brushes, rollers and tools.
Coverage: 1 Litre is sufficient to strip a surface area of approximately 1 square metre.
Application: Pour a quantity of Bondall Paint & Varnish Stripper into a suitable container. Apply a generous, thick coat at a rate of 1 litre per 1 metre squared, onto the surface to be stripped, with a suitable brush. Leave for approximately 1 hr before applying a second coat. For areas where there are less than 5 layers of paint or varnish, a second coat may not be necessary. Once the stripper has softened the paint, scrape off, leaving surface as clean as possible. Repeat process if necessary. Rub down stripped area using a scrubbing brush or stainless steel pad (DO NOT USE WIRE WOOL). Wash down stripped area with Bondall Waterbased TURPS, or detergent and water. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Carefully clean and prepare all surfaces, fine sanding and rounding off sharp edges as necessary.

Remove all previous paint, varnish, shellac or lacquer and wipe the surface clean of dust..

Stir well for 5 minutes and then apply with a soft paintbrush, applicator pad or suitable spray. The first application is a sealer coat.

Thinning is not usually necessary but if you prefer, thin with 5% clean water and apply as above. Leave this coat to dry for 1 hour, fill any imperfections, then leave to dry fully for 4 hours before applying further coats.

Leave the sealer coat to dry fully for 4 hours then apply a further 2-3 undiluted coats.

Allow 4 hours drying time between each coat. We recommend you give your newly sealed timber a light sanding with 240-grit sandpaper, dusting off thoroughly with a tack rag, before proceeding to apply the undiluted coats
