Applications:
FIBRE CEMENT, MDF, COLORBOND & LAMINATE
• Apply one coat of Bondall TimberEffects Gp primer Sealer and allow to dry. TimberEffects Gp primer Sealer is required to overcome substrate colour variations, to provide a neutral background and a better key for the topcoat. For smooth surfaces a light sanding to roughen the surface is recommended prior to coating with TimberEffects Gp primer Sealer.
• Apply first coat of TimberEffects and allow to dry. as TimberEffects is ready to use, thinning is not required except on hot days when 50ml of Hot Weather Thinner per one litre is recommended. Stir well before and during use with a broad flat paddle. Apply using a good quality paint brush in one horizontal direction only, laying off in the same direction. do not over brush. Brisk, uniform application is essential to maintain a wet edge, especially in hot weather.
• Apply second coat of TimberEffects. application commenced on a single area must be uninterrupted. Touch-up must be avoided. do not apply in temperatures below 10 degrees celsius or above 35 degrees celsius.
• Once the second coat of TimberEffects has dried, a coat of Chatsworth Clearcoat Sealer or an acrylic clear sealer is recommended, especially to laminate, to assist in protecting the TimberEffects finish.
PREVIOUSLY COATED TIMBER
• PREVIOUSLY PAINTED OR STAINED TIMBER: Remove all loose material then refer to application instructions for fibre cement etc.
• PREVIOUSLY VARNISHED TIMBER: Sand back to bare timber then refer to application instructions for uncoated timber.
UNCOATED TIMBER
• To reduce porosity, swelling and shrinking of the timber we recommend applying one coat of Bondall all purpose Timber Sealer to all sides of the timber and allowing to dry, before applying the first coat of TimberEffects.
